When and how it all started with me - WWV Fort Collins CO

In my early years of radio hobby in the beginning of 1980s there was no internet (obviously). However the hunger of understanding the radio signal HF propagation was vast and all available information was studied. A big leap to gain real-time information was to discover the Time and Frequency station WWV. With certain intervals there was a spoken Geophysical Alert message providing information on solar activity and geomagnetic conditions. Every time you waited impatiently the data. And if the signal was too faint to read, as such it still gave the indication of propagation conditions. During the years a wealth of space weather data has become available from various sources. But WWV is still there!
